Cathy founded Cathy's Elegant Events in 2010. Although she was born in NYC, her family moved to the Catskill Mountains at a young age, but they maintained a home in Brooklyn. This allowed her to have a unique upbringing in both Upstate New York and Brooklyn, where many of her relatives still reside.
Cathy holds a degree in Mathematics and Statistics. She started her event planning journey with her longtime friend Abigail Krisniski, who is no longer with the company.
The team expanded in 2014 with the addition of Amanda and Ian. Ian's background in catering and Amanda's experience in business administration have been invaluable in handling logistics and solving problems.
In 2016, Kristin, with her degree in hotel and restaurant management and extensive experience in fine pastry creation and design, started working with Cathy at her boutique hotel in the Catskills Mountains, soon becoming an essential and integral team member.
Ashley joined the team in 2017, initially providing childcare services at weddings and later becoming an assistant for day-of events. Her extensive experience working in a nursery has been a significant asset to the team.
We were excited to welcome Becky (left) and Erin (right) to the team in 2022. With Becky's nursing background and Erin's experience in business administration, they bring a unique combination of skills, humor, and problem-solving abilities that enhance each wedding they work on with us.

Prior to Cathy, our wedding planning process had endured some bumps and misfortunes that left us wondering how we were ever going to make our big day come to life. What can I say about Cathy, not only is she an amazing wedding planner but she’s an even better person. Cathy helped us transform our vision into the best day of our lives. We contacted Cathy about 6 months prior to our wedding. I will be the first to admit we have high expectations and definitely threw some weird stuff at Cathy. Cathy was on board for it all, she never made us feel crazy for any odd requests or changes during the planning process. Cathy is organized, experienced, and when we felt any stress, which was rare she assured us we were in a good place. We planned a wedding from scratch in 4 months. We hired Cathy Feb 2020 - right before the pandemic. It obviously made for a stressful year+ of planning. We seriously couldn't have done our wedding without her, and it probably wouldn't have happened without her. Cathy became part therapist (due to the stress/mini meltdowns of the covid rules and changes, us moving out of NYC, starting a new job, buying a new house, and other life craziness), part friend (we will def be in touch post wedding), she became someone we both confided in and she really got to know us throughout the whole process.
